COVID-19 Protocol

  • If any client is sick, especially with flu-like symptoms, has been in contact with anyone who is sick, especially those who tested positive for COVID-19, please do not travel with your pet. Please find your pet alternative transportation.
  • All team members have their temperatures taken before each shift, and wear masks for safety and wash hands between each appointment.
  • All driving clients please wait in cars and call us at 240-403-8387 to let us know you have arrived.
  • All walking clients please also call or wave from outside the office.
  • We ask that all clients wear masks when we are greeting you to escort your pet to or from the hospital.
  • All pets will be ushered by a team member immediately into an exam room once space is available. For dogs, we will use our own leashes. For cats and dogs in carriers, we will use a hospital-grade disinfectant on the handles.
  • Clients will stay outside in their cars or outside the office, as only the pets will be allowed into the building (social distancing). Please call to discuss protocol regarding humane euthanasia, if indicated.
  • Clients can video conference with the team, watch the exam, and interact using the Zoom Cloud Meeting app (free to download and no sign up needed) on a smartphone.
  • Clients that do not wish to use the Zoom app will receive a phone call from the doctor once the exam has been performed to discuss exam findings, recommendations, and treatments. Costs will be discussed as well.
  • Clients will complete billing by speaking with a team member prior to reconvening with their pet and receiving medications (if needed) outside the office or at their car. Please try to use credit/debit cards over cash/checks at this time.
  • We are a “handshake free zone” at this time.
  • Medication/Food refill requests are to be called in/emailed/sent through our WGVC App prior to your arrival at the hospital. Please call us to let us know you are here and we will deliver your items to your car when you arrive.

COVID-19 Update for Our Woodley Gardens Veterinary Care Family

Effective September 29th, 2020

With COVID-19 still a concern and flu season upon us, keeping everyone safe and well is a priority at our hospital. For those reasons, we are continuing curbside care for pets until further notice.

This means access to our hospital building will be limited to Woodley Gardens team members and client pets only. Our doctors can communicate with you via the ZOOM app during the appointment, or on the phone right after your pet’s appointment. You can view our complete curbside protocol here.

We want you to know that we are also regularly adjusting our internal procedures to better serve you and your pets while still maintaining strict cleanliness protocols. Those protocols include rigorous cleaning of our facility, specific hand-washing procedures, and a mandatory stay-at-home policy for any team member who is feeling ill for any reason. Temperatures are taken before each shift, and we require masks for all staff as well. We ask that all clients wear masks when we are greeting you to escort your pet to or from the hospital.

Finally, we ask that if you are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, or have been exposed to COVID-19, that you do not come to the hospital. If your pet needs care that cannot wait until you are no longer sick, please find alternative transportation for your pet and alert us that he or she is coming from a COVID-19 positive household.

Thank you so much for your patience and cooperation. You can also find current updates on our policies and procedures on our Facebook page.

Stay safe and well, everyone!
The Woodley Gardens Veterinary Care Team
